Still Life1951 This is one of two still life paintings that Frida painted for her dentist and personal friend Dr. Samuel Fastlicht. The other is "Still Life" (1952). The two paintings were in payment for some dental work that Fastlicht had performed on Frida. The inscription on the banderole reads: "I belong to Samuel Fastlicht. I was painted with great affection by Frida Kahlo in 1951. Coyoacán" In 1948, Fastlicht commissioned Frida to paint a self-portrait. That painting was entitled simply: "Self Portrait" (1948). |
