When

How Much I Love You

Frida produced a lot of still life paintings, most of them in her last years. The inscription on the banner at the top reads: "When I have you life, how much I love you - Frida Kahlo 1938".
I have always questioned
the authenticity of this painting….it just doesn't have the Kahlo
"look" and "feel" to me. It's authenticity has been
the subject of debate among the Kahlo "gurus" for years
but has always passed the "acid test" and continued to
be displayed as "genuine" in Kahlo exhibitions and has
appeared in several Kahlo books. Recently the painting was re-evaluated
and officially declared a "Fake".

Frida produjo un montón de naturalezas muertas, muchas de ellas en los últimos años de su carrera. La inscripción en la banderola de la parte de arriba dice: "Cuanto te tengo a ti vida, cuanto te quiero- Frida Kahlo 1938".
Siempre
he cuestionado la autenticidad de esta pintura .... simplemente no tiene
el "aspecto" Kahlo y la "sensación" para
mí. Su autenticidad ha sido objeto de debate entre los "gurús"
de Kahlo durante años, pero siempre ha pasado la "prueba
de fuego" y ha continuado mostrándose como autentica
en las exposiciones de la obra de Kahlo y ha aparecido en varios libros
sobre ella. Recientemente, la pintura fue re-evaluada y declarada oficialmente
"falsa".
