| Portrait
of a Girl with a Ribbon
 Around Her Waist
1929 Frida's husband,
Diego Rivera, encouraged her to paint portraits of the native Mexican
and Indian people. Although there are no known color photographs of this
painting, it was probably painted using bright color combinations that
were popular in Mexican art at the time. The subject in this unfinished
portrait is unknown. The whereabouts of this painting are unknown and
it's very possible that this is another one of her paintings that Kahlo
herself destroyed because she was not satisfied with the results....and
        that's why it's unfinished. | |

        Retrato de una
          niña con un lazo
 en la cintura
1929
